Dr. Quanming Wang is a seasoned expert in mineral prospecting and exploration. He formerly served as the Director of the Resource Evaluation Department at the China Geological Survey, where he led and participated in multiple national and provincial mineral resource potential evaluations.With over 30 published research papers, he has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards,  including a second-class National Science and Technology Progress Award and six first- and second-class provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards.Since 2015, Dr. Wang has focused on mineral prospecting in West Africa, spearheading the strategic mineral exploration layout in Guinea. He has played a pivotal role in the exploration and development of major gold projects such as GBG, GGE, and NJMC, leading to significant discoveries that have advanced the region's mining sector.

Qigui Mao

Research Professor, PhD in Tectonics and Metallogeny

Affiliation & Experience: Recipient of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) "Hundred Talents Program" and Chief Expert at the Beijing Institute of Geology for Mineral Resources (BIGM. He has been engaged in the research of metallogenic regularity and geological exploration for more than 20 years.

Project Leadership: He has served as the principal investigator for over 30 projects, including national scientific expeditions, deep-Earth exploration initiatives, national key technology support programs, geological surveys under the China Geological Survey, and corporate exploration ventures.

Publications & Editorial Roles: He has published more than 100 academic papers in prominent journals, such as Geology, GSA Bulletin (GSAB), Ore Geology Reviews (OGR), and Communications Earth & Environment (CEE, a Nature portfolio journal). He also serves as an Associate Editor for the international journals Ore Geology Reviews (OGR) and Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems (G³)

Awards & Honors: He is the recipient of eight provincial and ministerial-level Science and Technology Progress Awards (First and Second Class), the Huang Jiqing Young Geological Science and Technology Award from the Geological Society of China, and the Silver Hammer Award[1].

Research Focus & Achievements: Dr. Mao has dedicated his career to the study of orogenic metallogeny, mineral resource prediction, and exploration technologies. His work led to the discoveries of the Yudai porphyry copper deposit, the Yueyawan copper-nickel deposit, and the Tianyun gold deposit[2][3]. Additionally, his research achievements have supported mining enterprises and geological survey teams in achieving mineral prospecting breakthroughs for copper, gold, lead-zinc, vanadium-titanium, and other resources.
